Our plan for the next year...

overcast 9 °C

I can hardly believe we are leaving tomorrow for a year of exploration around the world - part of me still thinks we are going back to London to work rather than Heathrow for a plane half way across the world.

Our last minute shopping is complete and we have packed our bags ready to go. Baggage consists of one 45l rucksack each and another small hand luggage bag each. In total, it is about 13kg of luggage each which doesn't look or sound alot!

We are leaving from Ilkeston tomorrow morning for Heathrow where our flight will take us from London to Beijing via Doha. Our planned itinerary is roughly as follows

China - January
SE Asia (Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore) - February to April
Australia - April to July
New Zealand - July / August
South America (Chile, Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Bolivia, Uruguay) - August to December

We are very much looking forward to China although are getting slightly nervous about the language, distances we need to cover (20hour train journeys aren't sounding appealing) and temperature (currently the highs are barely above 0C!). Hopefully we'll be able to update this about once a week to update you all on our progress and share photos of our journey with you!
